PURPOSE
To implement a positive program for recognizing those personnel in the rank of E-7 and below who demonstrate exemplary military standards, appearance, and professionalism on a continuous basis. The individual must be assigned to Dyess AFB and can be from any branch of service.

PROCEDURE
Each Chief will receive one "Sharp Troop" nomination card per calendar year. Each Chief is authorized to nominate only one individual.

This award is presented each month to a deserving airman or NCO selected by one of the active duty Chiefs. The award cannot be presented to an individual in the Chief's squadron. The rotation is done alphabetically using the Active Duty Chief roster.

Confirm the nominee’s exemplary appearance, performance, and adherence to military core values with the respective First Sergeant. Also, verify that the individual is not pending nor has recently received disciplinary action.

THE NOMINATING CHIEF WILL
Ensure presentation is set up at the recipients duty location amongst peers and supervisors. Coordination with shop superintendent may be necessary, but recipient must not know.

Ensure plaque is available for presentation.
Arrange for a photographer at the presentation.
Submit a photo of the presentation to the base newspaper.

THE CHIEF'S GROUP SECRETARY WILL
Prepare the plaque for nominating chief.
Keep a history of past recipients.
