INTRODUCTION

1. The JEEP is awarded to the junior Chief (most recent date of rank), hereby known as the Jeep Chief, by the preceding Jeep Chief in front of as many people as possible (preferably at pin-on). If the preceding Jeep Chief is not available, the Chiefs’ Group president will make the presentation.

2. If a more junior Chief to the Jeep Chief arrives Dyess, the JEEP will go to the new arrival.

3. In the event multiple Chiefs pin on their stripe in a given month, each new Chief will carry the JEEP equal numbers of days as determined by the Chiefs’ Group President. The Jeep Chief with the lowest line number will start the period off carrying the JEEP, followed by each new Chief in order of their line number.

4. Should the Jeep Chief get transferred prior to relief of the JEEP to another Jeep Chief candidate, the JEEP will be temporarily parked at a location determined by the Dyess Chiefs’ Group President.

5. The Jeep Chief is responsible for the care of the JEEP.

6. The Jeep Chief will make one upgrade to the JEEP prior to pass-on to the next Jeep Chief.

7. Adding to the rules is authorized but must meet with Chiefs’ Group approval prior to official implementation. Taking away from the rules is not a Jeep Chief option.

RULES

1. The Jeep Chief will carry the JEEP at all times during the duty day, to all events where fellow Chiefs gather, both on duty (i.e. group meetings, quarterly awards luncheon, ALS graduations, etc…) and off duty (Chief socials, etc…) in/out of uniform. EXCEPTIONS: Participating in athletic events, physical conditioning, or while within the confines of your home property.
