AWARD
GUIDELINES
This guide outlines policies and establishes
procedures for nomination of an individual as an Honorary Chief Master
Sergeant as approved by the Dyess Chiefs' Group general membership.
Selection as an honorary chief is given
to those individuals who have gone above and beyond in the performance
of their duties in order to benefit the enlisted corps. It may
be awarded to officers or civilians without regard to rank or position.
It is NOT given to someone BECAUSE of the position held.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Any
member of the Dyess Chiefs Group may submit nominations.
Consideration
should be given to those persons who have clearly supported the total
enlisted corps in a superior manner and should not be based on rank
or position. Although one-time actions may be the basis for nomination,
it must be of favorable, significant importance to the vast majority
of enlisted personnel within the unit to which the person is assigned.
PROCEDURES
Nominations
must be during a Dyess Chiefs' Group monthly or special meeting.
The nominating individual announce their nominee's name, position and
briefly present their supporting information.
At
the next meeting the nomination will be made as a formal notion.
At this time the individual make the nomination explains why it is being
made citing specific achievements and their positive impacts on the
enlisted corps. Written support for the nomination may be entered
into the record. If the motion is seconded the regular process
of discussion will follow.
Once
all discussion has been completed the question will be called and voting
will take place. Voting may be either secret ballot or voice vote.
If motion carries the nominee will be informed as soon as possible and
plans for the induction are initiated.
